Thank God for corporate product placement! Something I would never say aloud in public but where would us filmmakers be without it!? We would probably be sucking up a lot more to the people that give out government grants, because we don’t do that already…

But in all seriousness, if you have made a short film i.e written and directed, in the past two years then you should definitely look into this cool little opportunity from Lexus Australia Short Film Fellowship and the Sydney Film Festival. And by ‘little’ I mean ‘yuuge’, each grant is worth $50,000! Four lucky filmmakers will receive funding, that’s $200k all up, the largest short film cash fellowship in the country.

So give us the deets:

  • Submissions close December 1, 2016
  • Submit your CV with your latest short between 2 and 40 mins
  • Must have had a film accepted into a film festival or currently studying at a film school
  • Filmmakers will be shortlisted to 20 and the panel will choose the top 4 for funding
  • Short Film will premiere at next year’s Sydney Film Festival

So get on your bikes! December is just around the corner…
