‘A Flickering Truth’: Screening + Q&A, 7:30pm at ANU Film Group
‘A Flickering Truth’ is New Zealand’s candidate for the Oscars’ Best Foreign Language Film. A riveting doco about three men trying to save over 8,000 hours of Afghanistan’s film archive. This will be the film’s Canberra premiere and is followed by a Q&A with Andrew Pike, Ray Edmondson and Alice Taylor (hosted by Cris Kennedy).

British Film Festival Opening Night: ‘A United Kingdom’ Screening, 6:15pm at Palace Electric
This massive festival runs for over three weeks from October 25th. With a selection of films traversing fact and fiction it’s a festival not to be missed. The festival opens with the film ‘A United Kingdom’ alongside some British fare and live music.

Canberra International Film Festival Opening Night: ‘Zoology’ Screening, 7pm at NFSA
In its 20th year, CIFF brings a fresh new program to film lovers which includes films produced in the ACT and abroad. The festival runs over 2 weeks at the National Film & Sound Archive with a variety of workshops, Q&As and special events.
