Thursday, November 17

Greek Film Festival Opening Night, 7pm at Palace Electric

The Delphi Bank Greek Film Festival celebrates the big ’23’ this year and brings six fabulous films with it. The festival runs over the whole weekend so get along to a screening if you can.

Drama – Palace Electric Canberra ACT, 7:15pm at Palace Electric

An ingenuously made film, ‘Drama’ follows Anna a struggling actor coming to terms with the reality of pursing her dreams. Join local filmmaker Noush Parsiavashi for this special one-off screening. 

 

Friday, November 18

Restoring Million Dollar Gamblers, 6pm at Arc Cinema

Join NFSA technician Ben Swadling as we see for ourselves the work required to restore and digitize films. This will also be a prime opportunity to watch the film ‘Million Dollar Gamblers’ for the first time in its restored glory.  

UC Graduate Film Screening, 8pm at Uni of Canberra

Come and witness the next batch of Canberra filmmakers from UC. This event coincides with the graduating exhibition from all other disciplines of the faculty of Arts & Design.

 

Saturday, November 19

Get along to the second Cat Film Festival and support a great cause. As if screening the ‘Aristocats’ wasn’t enough, there will also be night markets! 

50th Anniversary Closing Night, 7pm at ANU Film Group

What a huge year it’s been for the ANU Film Group! Once again they have lived up to the excellence of screenings and events they are known for. Closing out this momentous occasion is a special ‘secret screening’, mark it in your diary.

ScreenMesh & Christmas Trivia, 6pm at NFSA

Join local industry practitioners for a Q&A with Andrew Mackie, Managing Director at Transmission Films. Followed by some Xmas cheer and trivia! (Try and rsvp by Nov 18 if you can).

German Film Fest: Canberra Opening Night, 6:30pm at Palace Electric

The German Film Festival returns for its 15th year in 2016! Come and enjoy the opening night screening with cocktail reception and after party. The festival runs for the entire weekend and showcases some impressive films.

Classic Canberra Youtube MeetUp, 6pm at Guild

The monthly meet up for Youtube watchers and makers alike is on again. Come and meet some new people to collaborate with.

GIRL POWER – Female Graffiti Writer Documentary, 7pm at Lobrow Gallery & Bar

An eye opening documentary about female street artists making a name for themselves in a male dominated practice. Taking 7 years to make, this film looks very promising. Tickets available online from $5.
